I turned 22 a few weeks ago! It was during a really busy week and so
Marc bought me a large cupcake to eat. It was delicious!
We went up north for my Grandma Larsen's birthday party weekend. My grandma unfortunately had some health issues and so we spent most of the time at my Grandma Petersen's house. This turned out to be quite a blessing though because she passed away two weeks later.
This is the last picture I took of my Grandma. I'm not sure why it is blurry. Wish I would have taken more.
Silly boys!
Then on Monday April 16th, my Grandma had a heart attack and passed away. While we were there the last trip, I mentioned that I was going to plant a garden and asked for advice. My grandma also gave me some seeds. She always planted a beautiful garden and I aspired to be able to grow a garden like her. When I found out she had passed I was pretty devastated. Marc stayed home from classes and all I wanted to do was plant my garden in her memory.
As you can see, around all of the shrubs were tons of weeds. We had weeded it already and then just tilled up the dirt and added some miracle grow.
We built up little mounds and planted the seeds.
I also planted some seeds inside.
I still cannot believe that my sweet Grandmother passed away. I am grateful for the time I was able to spend with her and I am grateful for all that she taught me in life. I hope my garden will be able to remind me of her. There are already some radishes coming up and some tomatoes and basil inside. Love you Grandma.
So sorry about your Grandma. Awesome on the garden though. Is it kind of across the street from your apartments where you park your car on the street? I just started on mine last weekend, gonna try to finish it up this weekend. Love you guys, Amanda
ReplyDeleteOur garden is kind of there. If you follow the place we park a ways longer it turns, and we planted right at the corner. We would have planted right across from our apartment but there is a wall there that is falling down and I didn't want it to fall on our plants or for them to decide to tear it down and possibly step on them. Everything but the carrots are growing now! :)
